12 Step Program; Kendolls

The 12 Step Program – we asked all our bands to give us 12 songs that influence them, inspire them or that they just really love – and if possible give us a little story to go with it.
This week it’s time to check upon The Kendolls’ playlist.

Sweden’s Kendolls work hard, rock hard and party hard. Their full length “Autonomania” completely blew us away, as did their shows. They seem unstoppable. Be sure to check out their recent EP “Botox de la Europa”!
We asked singer / guitarist Oskar about the twelve songs that inspired him the most. This is his list.
Check it out here or scroll to the bottom!

1. Nirvana – Territorial pissings
First band that got me into alternative/rock/punk music and basically changed my life. Spent a lot of hours in front of the mirror playing air guitar to this one

 2. Ebba Grön – Staten och kapitalet
This was the first swedish punk band that caught my attention and really made me think of lyrics. This band represented more than music to me and made me realize that you can express your opinions, politics and message in music. You could say Ebba Grön was Swedens version to The Clash. This song is a cover of an old Swedish prog band called Blå Tåget
3. Slayer – Angel of death
I learned and practiced so much guitar to Slayer as a teenager. This is where i learnt that solos and riffs don’t need to be in tune or make sense in order to sound awesome

4. Cypress Hill – How i could just kill a man
Best hip-hop album ever, from the best hip-hop group ever. I remember hearing this album in the local skate ramp as a kid. This was the first group that caught my interest in hip-hop
5. Trash Talk – Explode
Even though it´s a “new” band this is one of the best HC bands ever in my book. In fact i think its one of the best bands in the world right now. This band made me wanna fuck everything up, quit my job, giving up my apartment and start touring more seriously.
6. AC/DC – Riff Raff (live)
My favourite AC/DC record. Bon Scott is the king forever
7. Turbonegro – Just flesh
My big brother introduced me to Turbonegro when i was 12 years old. Been a huge fan since! Also, this song has the best intro in the history of music. WHERE´S THE MONEY!?
8. Sterile Hermaphrodite – The Trip
Friends of ours that make awesome weird noise rock. Fans of Sonic Youth, L7 and Melvins should really check this out!
9. Honningbarna – Dödtid
Best liveband in Scandinavia. We´ve played 3 shows opening up for them in Norway and they always leave you charged with energy
10. Run the jewels – Close your eyes
This is a group i listen to a lot at the moment. It´s hard for me to find good hip-hop since i am not really into the whole ‘trap-flashy-bitches and money’ type of thing. I love the RTJ beats and the flow of both rappers
11. Manu Chao – Desaparecido
The ‘Clandestino’ album has a great feeling of universal loneliness while still carries a message of hope. I especially enjoy this album while traveling and touring
12. The Bronx – Heart attack American
I used to work in the automobile industry in my early 20´s and i really hated it. I blasted this song in my headphones everyday until i became angry enough to quit that shit job
