The 12 Step Program – we asked all our bands to give us 12 songs that influence them, inspire them or that they just really love – and if possible give us a little story to go with it.
Thanx 4 All The Shoes, whose full length album “Another Ride” was just released on CD and LP kicks off this one with an blistering playlist full of furious punkrock.

Here’s what vocalist Damiano had to say on behalf of the band:
THANX 4 ALL THE SHOES
It has been really tough to decide on just 12 songs. After a decade as a band and countless crazy situations, we can name a billion titles that have a place in our heart for some reason. But at last we decided to pick just one song per band.. Check this out!
01. Propagandhi – Supporting Caste
It’s hard to choose just one song from our all times favorite band, so we picked up the title track of our all time favourite record. Simply perfect: they took songwriting, as well as lyrics, to a level so high that it’s hard to possibly reach again. We spent months listening to only this record but nothing else and trying to play it with despicable results.
After 8 years, still gives me chills every time I listen to it.
02. NOFX – It’s My Job To Keep Punk Rock Elite
It sounds like a cliche but this album is the reason why we decided to start this band back in 2006. It is impossible to describe how important this band is for us as well as for tons of other punk rock kids. We selected this song for the message, that we still try to carry on as strongly as we meant it since day one of the band. Personally it is the very first NOFX song I’ve ever listened to and I swear I perfectly remember that moment. It changed my life forever when I was 12. Thanks Giulia (my sister) for that.
03. Metallica – Whiplash
This band and this record has always been a great source of inspiration for us. We can consider the early Metallica one of the greatest bands that had the capacity to mix metal riffs with hardcore intensity. That is always one of the goals when we write songs and I think that this song is the best Metallica song to be associated with our sound.
04. X-State Ride – Still Raining
We can write an entire book about this band and never being boring. We always considered these guys as our older brothers of the Italian scene for many reasons. They took us with them for the first time in 2007 at the release party of this masterpiece album called Against Me, just a year after this band started its career and the rest is history: An endless spiral out of control made of dozens shows together, thousands miles on the road in the same van, millions of beers drunk and always stage diving while the other band was playing. They are probably one of the top 3 band that influenced our way to write songs and live this scene.
Sadly in September they decided to stop playing and for the umpteenth time we where there, sharing the stage, sharing beers, singing along to their songs. We already miss them. Best guys ever.
05. This Is Hell – Acid Rain
This was a really underrated band for our music taste. Truly loved them from day one til this album, that has been the last LP of their career. Their sound had an evolution similar to ours for some aspects. They started from a furious and straight hardcore punk sound, ending with this album that is probably more thrash metal than punk but we all love the way it sounds. Not as much as for them, but metal influences are still a consistent part of our sound and songwriting, now more than when we started and we just knew how to play power chords. haha
06. Elio E Le Storie Tese – Supergiovane
Probably just Italian people will know this song but this one, as well as the entire discography of this band, is what we sing along to the most in our van when we are on tour. They are simply genius. Demential music played by amazing musicians with lyrics that make us laugh to tears.
07. Iron Reagan – Tyranny Of Will
Is probably the “recent band” that all of us love the most and we can listen to while going crazy together.
They walk the thin path between thrash and hardcore punk. Is truly 50% and 50% and we really love it. We chose this song because we have a story about it: in 2016, we played with them at punk rock holiday in Slovenia and they were one of the bands that we were awaiting the most…as soon as the band came up to the stage, before they even started playing, the singer just screamed “FASTEEEERR” and then they started the show with this song. It literally blew our mind away. We continued to shout that “faster” to each other for months so many times, that we also thought to take it as title of our album. Not joking.
08. Lagwagon – Mr Coffee
Fat music for fat people…do I have to say anything else? We love this song since way before the band started to play, in the early days of Thanx 4 All The Shoes, we loved to play it during our practice sessions..thinking about it now, I don’t know why we’ve never played it live, it could be really really funny. They are one of the bands we’ve seen the most live and every time, they remember us and where our roots come from.
09. Queen – Bohemian Rapsody
Have you ever seen the movie: “Wayne’s world”? Well: if you haven’t, be ashamed of yourself! But if you’ve seen it, you surely remember the scene when Wayne and his friends are in the car, acting like they are really singing this song! Well we did the remake of that scene in our van like a thousand times during our travels from one venue to another.
Probably the best band of all times, this song is beyond everything.
10. Sick Of It All – Busted
Simply one of the best band ever for passion, music and attitude. Their songs influenced our sound on the most “aggressive” songs we wrote. Moreover, Craig, the bass player, is a friend of one of us and is really the nicest person on this planet as well as his band mates. Always a nice word for everyone and always supported us. A couple of years ago he played a show in Bologna wearing a T4ATS shirt on stage and dedicating this song to us, that was one for the books. We choose this one because of that, because he sings on it and, if you don’t know, he sings on a song of our new album too. RAD.
11. Megadeth – Holy Wars…The Punishment Due
This album and the songs are milestones. We discovered them in our early years, thanks to the guys in x-state ride, when we were all just PUNK, SPEED AND NO METAL AT ALL. But this changed our views about how cool it can be mixing punk and metal, playing fast but shredding more technical riffs. To be honest I discovered this band seeing the singer from Propagandhi playing with a Megadeth t-shirt so it was obvious that they were a cool band to check.
Now we are about PUNK, VELOCITY AND METAL AT ALL.
Ps. Still trying to playing it properly but always sounds quite bad.
12. Jurassic Park Theme
Don’t know the reason but somehow, a couple of years ago, we took this awesome tune and got mad with it. The exact moment is when in the movie, they arrive at the Brachiosaurus valley and the doctor says “welcome to Jurassic park”..and then the jingle started.. there is no reason for it but we started a couple of shows with the audio of that scene and we ripped off that riff, changed a little bit and it became the main riff of one of our new songs, guess which one
By the way, this is truly a great song.
